Our Journey

Straightship was born during a pivotal moment in global trade. Founders Justin Thompson, William Qu, and Kevin O’Byrne, seasoned professionals in supply chain management, recognized the inefficiencies in international logistics while navigating the challenges of coordinating pickups from ports and terminals and managing door-to-door deliveries from Asia to North America. They envisioned a company that could transform these systems with transparency, efficiency, and reliability.

The name “Straightship” embodied their mission to simplify complexity, delivering direct and effective solutions. Focusing on door-to-door shipping from Asia to North America, the founders built their company on three core principles: innovation, partnership, and trust. They developed advanced systems for real-time tracking, seamless communication, and predictive analytics, ensuring clients always had clear visibility into their shipments.

Straightship’s emphasis on collaboration fostered strong relationships with clients and carriers, establishing trust and reliability in an unpredictable industry. In its early days, the team worked tirelessly to secure clients and refine their processes, proving their commitment to excellence with every delivery.

• Justin Thompson

  CEO

  Justin Thompson is the CEO of Staightship, prior to joining Straightship, Justin successfully led the acquisition and subsequent 10x growth of Corporate Couriers Logistics, expanding its service offerings and geographic reach. A former professional soccer player with international experience, Justin brings a unique blend of athletic discipline, strategic thinking, and a collaborative leadership style to his role at Straightship.
  
  He is a passionate advocate for innovation in e-commerce and is committed to building high-performing teams that deliver exceptional results. Beyond his professional endeavors, Justin is an active member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO) and enjoys giving back to the community by coaching his children's sports teams.

  COO

  William Qu is the COO of Straightship, focusing on business development and operations management.
  
  With years of experience in cross-border logistics and a deep understanding of the North American and Chinese markets, William leverages core resources and partners to offer cost-competitive, reliable cross-border supply chain solutions, driving company growth through professional products and services.
• Kevin O’ Byrne

  CFO

  Kevin O’ Byrne is the CFO of Straightship, where he drives the company’s international growth with a focus on financial prudence and operational excellence. Prior to Straightship, Kevin was instrumental in building a leading regional logistics company, overseeing front-line management across the entire organization.
  
  More recently Kevin worked with a New York based national logistics company where he was able to ensure their successful expansion in the U.S market through completion of both acquisition and mergers.  Kevin’s leadership expertise ensures that Straightship continues to deliver efficient and reliable logistics solutions on a global scale.

  Sales & New Market Expansion

  With extensive experience in international market development and e-commerce, Abo has successfully driven global growth and consistently exceeded sales targets by identifying emerging market opportunities and optimizing sales strategies. He has built a strong network of partnerships with top eCommerce retailers and global brand manufacturers, expanding the logistics business, achieving consistent double-digit year-over-year growth, and securing multiple high-value contracts.
  
  Abo excels in team leadership, market expansion, sales management, market analysis, and CRM, and is committed to driving the long-term global growth of the company.

  Business Development & Marketing

  With a Doctorate in Business Administration from Audencia Business School in Nantes, France, and experience in decision support for Alibaba's cross-border business, Jeff has successfully driven deep collaborations between Straightship and major eCommerce platforms and key sellers.
